I love to cross stitch!
I learned as a young girl how to do this amazing craft and have been hooked ever since. There is just something about finding a pattern that totally speaks to you and then sitting down and getting lost in the gorgeous threads, counting the amount of stitches, and watching the design come to life. Not to mention cross stitching is the perfect craft to do while watching my favorite shows like Murder She Wrote, Hunter, and Psych!
I’m currently in the middle of two different pieces (not shown) but wanted to show some of my favorite cross stitch pieces that I have completed in the past couple of years. I’m also including the link to the amazing cross stitch artists’ websites/etsy shop if you must stitch these up yourself.
1. Alfred Hitchcock
Quite possible one of my top two cross stitch projects that I have done to date. I made this project for my Mom as she is a huge Hitchcock fan and has passed this love on to me. He was an easy piece to stitch since he is in all black and I just loved watching him to come to life. I will totally be stitching this one up again for myself!
2. Goonies Never Say Die
This one ties with Alfred at being number one! Seriously! As kids, my brothers and I watched “The Goonies” until we knew every line. And I know Mom had no idea how much profanity was in it or we probably would have never been able to watch it lmao! 33 years later (GULP!), “The Goonies” is still one of my all time favorite movies ever. I’ve passed this love on to my kiddo who has a closet full of graphic tees.
3. Ain’t Nothing Going to Break My Stride
Okay, when I first saw Not So Modern Millie post this on ig, I just KNEW I had to purchase it IMMEDIATELY!!!! And I laughed the whole entire time that I did it. This was the perfect gift for my hubby this year for his birthday! You might ask why and I really wish that I could just show you, however, I’ve deleted the video. My hubby LOOOOVES this song. And every time it comes on one of the 80’s channels (the only channel that we can agree on mind you) on the radio, he sings and dances his heart out. He’s wiggling all over the place while belting out the wrong words having him a good ol’ time. All while I sit in the passenger seat laughing until tears are flowing. Stitching this pattern for him was the absolute best because every time I picked it up, I could picture him “performing” the hell outta that song.
4. I (heart) 80’s
Another gift (honestly, cross stitching something for someone makes the BEST gift ever!). This time for my bestie who is obsessed with all things 80’s. This was another fun pattern to stitch because of all the fun colors and objects. Like I’m seriously dying over the fabulousness of the cassette tape with the pencil. I always had a pencil near by my lil boombox in case of an emergency lol.
And yet another gift. This time for my Bella-Boo who is my favorite Taurus on the planet. You will learn that I love all the things zodiac (Team Pisces here!) and she has inherited this love with her own sign. Satsuma Street is one of my favorite cross stitch pattern designers. All of her designs are filled with vibrant, gorgeous colors and have such an amazing vintage vibe to them that I cannot resist.
6. Downton Abbey
Finally, the biggest project I’ve ever done! Of course this was a gift (see! I told ya they made amazing presents!) and it took fooooorrreverrrr!!! But I loved stitching it. Don’t let the picture deceive you. It is quite a large piece. I would absolutely love to do this one again for myself sometime in the future. Maybe I can get it done before the movie comes out! Yes! There is going to be a movie !!! I cannot wait!
